patching cracks in plastics???

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' at netrider.net.au started by LCGTR1970, Jun 20, 2010.

  1. hi all,
i not long ago bought my 1st bike, and its a little beast! i cant get enough of riding!!
now, ive been looking at the bike, and the paint is in need of attention and im going to respray the plastics, wheels etc. and want to know what the best way to repair slight cracks in the fairings? theyre smallish cracks and i want to know how to fill them and to prep them so that they are smooth for when im gonna lay down the paint.
ive had a little experience with painting cars, so can i use the same type of bog as you do with a car to smooth the cracks/joins, or do i need something more flexible to cater for any expansion of the plastic?
    any help is greatly appreciated...
    cheers guys
