P.I. rules and regs?

Discussion in 'Racing, Motorsports, and Track Days' at netrider.net.au started by raven, Feb 10, 2006.

  1. I have a cornering school in a few weeks at P.I., and I have read where they require aftermarket bracketing and frames to be removed prior to hitting the track. (fair enough)

I have a givi topbox with a givi mounting frame on the rear of my FJR1300.
I am wndering if anyone knows if I will have to remove that frame?...It is a fairly substantial part of the bike as it replaces the grab handles as well as mounting the top box.

    Anyone know?

  2. You'll be okay to keep the base sub-frame attached to the bike, but you have to remove anything that attaches to it.

Plenty of people there at PI on Tuesday with gearsack sub-frame bolted onto the pillion area, but of course they had the actual rack itself removed.

Just as long as there are no sharp bendable pointy bits poking up and out of the bike with the main frame is removed, you'll be right.
  3. Ok..thanks Cathar.
That puts me in the picture, nicely.
