Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' at netrider.net.au started by doonx, Feb 16, 2006.

  1. Dale Begg-Smith wins our first GOLD Medal. It was a BRILLIANT Mogul run by a BRILLIANT skier !

    Dale's GOLD Medal run !

Fantastic to see our first real skiing Gold Medal. Alisa Camplin's GOLD was spectacular and whilst she is on skis, her event isn't really skiing per se.

  2. Yep, another import wins Gold for Australia
  3. Yep... Half Canadian/ Half Aussie gold medal.... I think Canada can afford to let Australia claim this one !!!

  4. See me, I like the ice dancing and figure skating pairs events. That shit is DEAD FKIN SEXY.

/Anyone see that chinese chick who fell and smashed her knee up trying for a quadruple somethingorother... and then got back up and finished her routine to get a Silver medal? Wooooo!
  5. Ah, more like 4/5ths canadian :p

    Good on ya, Canuck
A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Begg-Smith began his career competing for Canada. The dual-citizen of Canada and Australia competed in several Nor-Am events between 1997 and 1999 on the Canadian team, but didn't want to wait on the nation's development team while other skiers were selected to compete at World Cup events. Frustrated, Begg-Smith quit freestyle skiing when he was 15, but regained interest in 2001 when he met Steve Desovich, a longtime Canadian coach who left to work with the Australian team in 1999. Begg-Smith and his older brother, Jason, got dual-citizenship and began competing for Australia in 2003-04.
