Oils aint oils????

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by cbr1000_racing, Jun 23, 2007.

  1. Does anyone know the difference between car and motorbike oils?

If they are both the same velocity ( 10w-40) should it matter? Bike purely used for commuting and no high speed racing antics involved...even get left at the lights occasionly :)

If anyone could assist, much appreciated.

    Cheers

    David

  7. Your bike would probably specified a fully synthetic anyway. So, so long as you bought a fully synthetic oil of the correct weight, you should be fine.

  8. I tried to resist, but couldn't!

The difference is the label and the price, for equivalent spec oils.
Look up "boutique product" and "boutique marketing".

    Regards, Andrew.
