Discussion in 'Welcome Lounge' started by Curiousity, Jun 8, 2008.

  1. Yep, beautiful day for a ride so off i went on my bike. Built up my confidence and took corners really well  . Everything was going swell until i got a complaint from my neighbour about the smoke coming out of my bike  . Doesn't look good for me time for a visit to the bike doctor!

  2. how long since you changed the oil?
  3. About three months ago.......full serviced it.
  4. Black smoke? Oil would probably be blue......

Does it still do it when the bike is sitting still with the engine running?

    Where is it coming from??

    what does it smell like?

    more information please
  5. Make sure your choke is off. Check at the carbs too that off is actually off. Excessive fuel produces black smoke.
  6. smells like petrol....burning petrol, very strong.

only when im on the go and when i first start it up

no change in power (that i noticed) and still sounds the same

    very thick and very black

pretty sure its coming from my exhaust. But i will have to wait til my brother comes over to double check that (hard to see when im the one riding it)

cant really say much more at this moment. Thats all i have for now, too dark to see anything outside.
  7. ok, 23 female and dont know that much about bike. Choke was off......carbs???
