NSW Rego and clocks

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by Crash_Rubes, Feb 8, 2007.

  1. Going to look at a bike to buy. It has a problem with the clocks. The speedo and the tacho needle are broken in half. They apparently still work.

Couple of questions. Is it likely that a bike would fail NSW rego for this? Second is there any logical explanation as to how this could have happened?

  2. It shouldn't fail rego, but you shouldn't buy it either. It has been crashed, and the owner has replaced the instrument casings but has been too stingey to replace the instruments themselves.....
  3. Thanks

I suspected that there was something going on but then again I am paranoid about everything!
  4. if there is an instruments category, it should fail for the speedometer - not the tachometer.
  5. +1 for pauls post.

it would be highly unlikely that the needles would snap due to "clocking" them, in which case you wouldnt buy it anyway ;)
