[NSW] P's test technical question

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' started by cam77, Mar 16, 2006.

  1. Hi guys.

Just a quick question about the P's test, which I have booked soon.

When I did the Pre-Learner course, I was taught to take off by letting the clutch out to friction point while the back brake was still engaged, and then accelerate by letting the brake out gently.

Is this a requirement of the P's test? Will they be expecting me to do it? Because, my mechanic said that it just speeds up wear and tear on the clutch. I have not found a problem with just letting the clutch out gently, as I might in a car.

    Cam. :?
  2. No its not a requirement.....you can do whatever you want.

In the P's test though there is alot of slow maneuvering(weaving, U-turns etc) so doing this does help. I did it - hold friction point and control movement with rear brake.
