  1. Dates: Friday August 26 - Sunday August 28 inclusive. Limited to 4 people.

Tweetums brings the L/P riders another excellent weekend on the bike, and best of all your accommodation is FREE!

Join myself and damedi for a weekend experience that is sure to have you learning a lot about touring riding. Damedi has only been riding 2 years, but in that time he has clocked up almost 60,000km on 2 wheels, so for those new to riding, his experience as someone who was recently in your shoes will be invaluable.

Bring your fuel, food and where needed beer money and that's it.

This will be an excellent chance for noob riders to gain experience on some of the best roads in Australia in a small group and at a pace everyone can enjoy.

Plan will be to leave Sydney on Friday morning and return Sunday morning.

The accommodation will be of an excellent standard as I don't do pubs, backpackers, cardboard boxes, tents etc
The accommodation will have laundry facilities and lock up bike parking with private facilities (subject to availability)
Bedding will be single or King single beds or better.
    Here's how it will work:

    The ride is only open to;

    1) people who are on L's or P's and for P riders, only those who have held their P's for LESS than 6 months at the time of the ride.

    2) Sydney residents.

I will be checking your license to verify the above.

    3) those with a bike that can maintain 90km/h as a minimum and the ability to ride at that speed. This is not for those who can hardly balance or wobble all over the place. No scooters.

In order to secure your place, you will need to pay $75 to me upfront. No spot is secured until your $75 is paid to me via Paypal or bank deposit.
I bet you are asking why you need to pay for a ride that's free??

It's simple...if I just let anyone and everyone say they are "IN" and allocate them a spot, experience tells me that some of them will not even bother to turn up, or they will suddenly contract Ebola, H1N1 etc and pull out at the last minute, which means someone else who would have gone misses out.

That's annoying given I pay for the accommodation to bring these rides to you and it ends up wasted. Where I stay isn't cheap!

Here is the good part. When you turn up on the day of the ride, you will get 100% of your $75 back from me. If you pull out at anytime before the ride or fail to turn up, you will lose 100% of your $75.

If people invest something, they are not usually flippant and careless with committing and they give it some thought before throwing their hand in the air.

Express your interest.... Ask questions etc.

** In the event there has not been sufficient interest to make the accommodation booking, and the planned accommodation books out, I reserve the right to refund monies and postpone/cancel the ride.

  6. If there is no interest by the end of July, I will withdraw the offer.

  8. Only in Sydney. As a current L plater I'd be on it in a flash. Don't get too many offers like this one.

  11. they're waiting for the offer of 'free cake'

  12. I reckon they have to pass nearby Newcastle on the way up, so you should be able to join them somewhere
  13. I was going to ask if there was a chance of jumping on at this end but wasn't sure if it was a Sydney only gig.
  14. Crazy there's not more interest in this... I'd be in if it were Vic.

  16. Cam,
To be honest, I would prefer Sydney based riders because they will also rise up and back with us, as well as potentially continue to ride on day rides out of Sydney with is going forward.

Also looking at your bikes, you will struggle to maintain the 90kmh speed limit I think?
  17. I am surprised this ride offer is not fully booked out already. It is a n excellent ride.

  19. Surprising huh...
Well, as I said to damedidamedi if there are no takers for this one, I might try a Snowy region ride after ski season and if that also doesn't get much interest, I won't bother offering free weekends away and my time to the noobs anymore.
In years gone by I could fill these weekends within a day or two, now it seems all the noobs are just interested in commuting and poser rides through the beach suburbs of Sydney.
    Not our loss...
  20. In all honesty, reading that (and a few of the earlier comments) does not make it sound very inviting for a newby that is new to the forum.

I think it's a wonderfull idea (and huge responsibility) and really support it and hope that a few L and P's take up the offer.
