  1. Darwin Streetbikes run newbie/learner rides most Saturday afternoons, meet at Caltex Berrimah 1630 for 1700 departure, though these rides are targeted to newer and learner riders all riders including returning riders are welcome to come along.

The rides are mainly to reinforce the METAL (Motorcycle Education Training and Licencing) scheme it is also to enable newer/learner riders to gain some experience and road-craft.

1 All new attendees will need to show their licence as there has been cases lately of restricted licence holders on non LAMS machines attending. (R6s and GSXR600s are not bloody LAMS)

2 All riders are expected to wear appropriate riding apparel, minimum of approved helmet, long pants/jeans, jacket, gloves and covered shoes/boots.

3 NT Police Traffic Branch are fully aware of and support these rides on the proviso that all riders are correctly licenced, all machines are registered and in road worthy condition.

All attendees ride at their own risk, the organisers accept no liability for any injury or damage that may occur.

Check Darwin Street Bikes facebook page for up to date details.

  4. Beautiful afternoon, 32 degrees, 20% humidity, 5kn SE breeze, all three were super keen, really good with the slow speed stuff, still some room for improvement but getting there, they've all got emergency braking (all have ABS) down pat :), indicator use still a bit dodgy but that'll come with experience and practice , not real impressed with local Yamaha dealer though, the MT07 which was only picked up Thursday afternoon and still only had 182kms on it had an extremely loose chain :( which meant an impromptu chain maintenance lesson :), quite disgusted that a dealer would allow a new bike to be delivered in that state!
