Not sure if serious newspaper or not.....

  1. So somehow I stumbled onto this story from Kenya about girls turning into snakes:

    http://www.kenyan-post.com/2013/09/shocking-kirinyaga-secondary-school.html

It gave me a few lol's and thought it was a pretty good troll news site.... Until I went to the home page and found from appearances it actually considers itself as credible news source:

    http://www.kenyan-post.com

I know it's not the most credible source itself but even Wikipedia links to it for sources (reference 7):

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westgate_shopping_mall_shooting

I know this is generalising but it is this really the state of modern day Kenya? Judging by the comments a majority of their readers are calling bullshit but there's a few people who believe this shit! If this was reported in any serious news source around the world they'd be laughed out of business. Can anyone with experience confirm this kind of story is acceptable in Kenya/Africa? I'm really hoping for their sake this is some rubbish tabloid/gossip magazine

  2. It's a gossip tabloid, the owner is a one man band, it has been under investigation by the Kenyan government for spreading rumours and hate speech.

The Daily Nation. East African or The Standard are probably more respectable Kenyan newspapers.

  4. Atleast they don't have the Daily Telegraph.

  5. I chose to believe they are a legit publication, it's just that girls are turning into snakes. Why not?
