Noise Pollution Laws

Discussion in 'The Pub' at netrider.net.au started by Bugjuice88, Mar 7, 2013.

  1. Does anyone know what the laws are in relation to noise pollution?

Nothing to do with motorbikes. Just at my work some guys in the workshop started at 6am for a few days when it was hot instead of 7am. Apparently we now have a complaint against us.

Since our workshop is in an Industrial zoned land and the complaint come from a rural zoned land I would imagine that the rules for domestic noise pollution is irrelevant and they are just trying to use a scare tactic. Can anyone shed some light on the subject?

Where can I find info regarding operating times and decibel levels?

    Cheers guys

  3. Sounds like someone is having a hissy about industrial zoned land being near their rural land. Could be a long time farmer that resents the industrial intrusion or a hobby farmer/blow-in bytching because they want their serenity but can't afford to buy a real farm out west.
