Noise coming from engine

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by jarred2233, Apr 11, 2016.

  1. Hi guys, first post

I have this unusual noise i believe coming from my engine. It seems to be happening almost only in 4th travelling around 55-60kmph. It seems to disappear below and above that speed at lower and higher revs.
It sounds like a whirring vibration noise, almost exactly like if you repeated "who, who, who, who" with a high pitched voice at about 1-2hz. I have a new chain fitted properly by mechanics and old but still serviceable sprockets.

    Please help!!!

  3. I bet you really gotta know!
  4. What bike have you got?
If it seems to happen at a certain speed, chances are its not in your engine (which could be good as engine work is expensive).

There's also a fair chance it may just be a harmonic introduced under certain loading condition.

Hard to say with out knowing which bike.
  5. I have 2001 Honda vtr250
