New Technology can detect whether a driver is talking on a mobile phone call

  1. Big brother will be able to listening to your legally blue toothed mobile conversations... and distinguish whether it's the driver or the passenger talking... the inference is to outlaw drivers using the mobile full stop.

    = = = = = = = = =

  2. Wow, so this would only catch the people doing the right thing (not holding the phone while having a conversation) and all the other distracting continue to be pathetically enforced. So it wont do the one thing we need it to: change driver behaviour to focus on driving.
  3. big brother dose'nt actually want to stop you talking on a phone while driving.
he just needs a way to make money from it. can you say cash cow. can you say huge funding grant to Stevens Researcher
and now you won't be able to get out of paying the fine by saying it was a passenger on the phone.
  4. Seems to suggest that it detects the location of the phone (or I would imagine the microphone) by time delay on beeps sent through the speaker. Just stick your mic, or your phone on the passenger seat side, and you'll screw up that little technique.
