New rider- Sydney

Discussion in 'Welcome Lounge' started by Daniel 90, Dec 4, 2014.

  1. Hi Everyone,

Stumbled upon this forum recently and thought I'd join up and start soaking it all in! Posted in the New Rider forum by accident so just relocating here...

Recently got my bike license a few weeks ago, and been a bit of a steep learning curve ever since then - bought an 07' Honda VTR250 to learn on - I love her to bits!

I guess, firstly, hello to everyone!

Secondly, any beginners tips? I'm from Sydney, NSW - would be great to see what is around for social/learning rides etc. Happy to meet up with newer riders too to learn together...

Anyway, look forward to many discussions in future and meeting more of you each day!

  2. Welcome. Definitely do what womble suggested. Helps improve your skills with no pressure and meet up with other riders. Can probably find someone hear you to escort you if you don't know the way or want a riding buddy for confidence
  3. Come for a ride, I work half the year, let me know what works for you. I don't do poser rides running around Sydney's traffic along the beaches trying to look cool. Weekends away, that's where the fun is.
  4. Happy to help but I agree with womble. There are few group rides in Sydney but it can be stressful for a new rider
  5. Hi Womble,

Thanks for the tip (and everyone too).

Once the bike is fixed I will definitely try and make it out to those rides- can't wait.
