New rider bike advice

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' started by RemyB, Aug 2, 2014.

  1. Just decided I want to start riding and need a suggestion for a good first bike that'll last me till I can afford something better, my price range is up to about $3000

  2. I hope you have a budget for safety gear. Gs500 is a solid all rounder, very happy with mine. Also welcome.
  3. Can anyone suggest me a good first bike, $4000 price range, preferably supersport frame. I'm also 101kgs if that will make a difference
  4. Check Motorcycle Ergonomics for ideas on seating ergonomics for your size. As a solid guy I would be looking at something in the 400 - 600cc class. The GS500 as a suggestion above is a good one, solid bike.

You don't say if you prefer a cruiser style or more sports bike style?
Is $4k your total budget including helmet and riding gear?
  5. Gs500 is hardly a supersport frame

Though i think he ia after a unicorn
