New Provisional license laws in NSW

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by Jace_F, Mar 12, 2009.

  1. Hey all,

Heard that NSW are changing the laws around the Provisional license to go from its current one year reds to a 3 year system like with car laws.

Any idea on the roll out on that or when it comes into effect? Will it effect current L holders or new ones?
  2. affects people who get their Ps from the start date.
not sure if its start or end of june.

also on a side note, when i got my Ps the expiry was 18 months. I called and confirmed I was able to change it after 12months. that may mean the difference between getting a P2 handed to you also.

EDIT: You're 28 :) you're exempt if you've got your full car license.
  3. oh thank god, i'm 27, booked L's test in April, and wouldn't have had time to get p's in time. Exemptions are good :)
  4. Phew. Thank god for that! There is some benefits to getting older then!
