Discussion in 'Multimedia' started by Kaer, Feb 15, 2006.

  1. Would we have to wear the lycra suits?
  2. F%ck it, I'd wear it :p

  3. How kewl is that!

Not so kewl if U got a beer gut on ya :p
  4. Never stopped anyone wearing a chesty bonds singlet though did it

  5. It's meant to protect from the impact of flicking past a ski-run marker pole; I wonder what its maximum impact effectiveness is? Is hitting snow at 60 kph as hard as hitting tar at 60 kph (I have never skied, so don't know).....???
  6. Skiers at there top speed far exceed 60kph, in fact at there top speeds you would be well and truly ileagle on the road
"speed posting in excess of 140 mph." From http://www.speedski.com/PopularMechanics.htm (googled it)
But the lane markers bend, so it is not like hitting the road.

But the bigest diference is that hitting a land marker is spreading the fource across a 5cm wide pole (At the most) whereas hitting the road allows you to spread the impact accross a greater area.
  7. Ok, thanks for that. I actually meant to write 60 MILES per hour, I know they go quick!!!

I guess someone will 'road test' this technology for motorcyclists eventually.....
