Netrider Music

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by TonyE, Jul 15, 2005.

  1. After the discussion on the Geelong Road at 130kph thread degenerated (or improved  ) into a music one, I wondered what music do those on these forums prefer.

Given the wide variety of ages and tastes I think this should lead to some lively debate!

Rather than quote the artists though, how about people just post lyrics and see if anyone can actually guess who the artists are?

(It must be Friday and I'm getting bored!) :? :?

    OK I'll start

    1. see my sig for the first quote...

    2. I made enough money to buy Miami but I pissed it away so fast...

    3. I won't forget to put roses on your grave.

  2. Can we rename the thread to Netrider Music - Golden OFARC Oldies or something?
  3. Tonye's list

    1 - Chris Smither

    2 - Jimmy Buffett

    3 - Rolling Stones

    My list...

    1. Got to keep the loonies on the path

    2. These mist covered mountains, are home now for me...

    3. Carried away by a moonlight shadow...

    4. Sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen

should i continue or is that enough for now?
  4. 2 out of 3 ain't bad (and that's not a quote for the purposes of this post :D )

Number 1 isn't quite right. It originally comes from one of the albums featured in the SBS Classic Albums series a few years ago (Dylan also sang it in Melbourne the time before last). Originally recorded in the late 60's.

I'll let some one else answer yours (I think I know 2 of them  )
  5. which ones... 1&2?

my music tastes are wide and varied......i have some you'd never get so i tried to make then somewhat possible to get.
  6. Pink Floyd
    Dire Straits

    Rammstein <- that's a guess, it's the only German band I know off :p
  7. 3 out of 4 right..... no 3 is a bit obscure....

Mike Oldfield. one of his few with words..... bit hard to list lyrics for an instrumental.
  8. 1 & 2 yes.

I think most people have some that others would never get. It needs to be reasonable (mostly  )

  9. well from here i delve away from the mainstream.... a lot of celtic& instrumental stuff

    how about his one...

i first produced my pistol and i then produced my rapier.....said stand and deliver or the devil he may take ya...
  10. Whiskey in the jar!
  11. yep....by abour 50 different artists ofer time

i'll leave it here or i could have you guessing stuff for years
  12. Given that I started listening to folk and traditional (especially Irish & Celtic) more years ago than I care to remember I think that's a good idea   . This could go on forever
  13. yep sure could...

i mean how do you get people to guess Clannad?
  14. grateful dead? I think is the first one for yours TonyE.
3rd one is the rolling stones dead flowers.

Don't know if we got any hip hop or mod rock listeners but here's three of my own

    1. "I have plenty to say But nobody listens because my cock is so big And the end of it glistens"

    2. "I found a fox, caught by dogs, he let me take him in my hands His little heart, it beat so fast And I'm ashamed to be running away"

    3. "Please believe me, Natalie Listen Natalie This is your last chance to find A go-go dance to disco now"
  15. Who know's who sings these famous lyrics.

    "dis b!tch dat ho3"
  16. "Charlie's wife goes down to the Scully Square Station
Every day at quarter past two."
  17. yep - Friend of the Devil was No 1
No 2 was "A Pirate Looks at 40" Jimmy Buffett.

    Which leads to a reflection.

Greatful Dead fans are Dead Heads,
Jimmy Buffet Fans are Parrot Heads.
If you like both does that make you a "Dead Parrot Head"? as in "This is an ex-parrot"

Gawd - it must be Friday!!!

  18. Yeah it has something to do with being the day after thursday i think!!
  19. "Hang on the bell, Nelly"
  20. Drew...

Has to be Mike Oldfield all the way! Wooooo
