Need advice on bike PPSR result

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by fatjoez, Aug 9, 2013.

  1. Hi there

Just paid for a PPSR search on a bike I'm looking to buy

    No security interest,
but under "written off" it mentions 'Collision'.

Is this something to worry about?

Also is there a website where I can find ownership name / address details for the bike (Queensland)

  2. Means in has been in an accident (repairable write off most probably).. Just make sure the frame and forks are straight.. Ask the seller what happened and give it a good going over before purchasing.. could have just been cosmetic crash..
  3. Thanks for the headsup,

Bike looked perfectly fine on inspection.
    Started fine.
Body work smooth, didn't notice any scrapes.
    Recently serviced

    Ownership details etc all legit.

Collision 6 years ago so perhaps not too much to worry about.
Current owner only had bike 2 years so he didn't know.

    Putting deposit tonight collect tomorrow
  4. Well, the damage was enough to write off a 5 year old bike.

The bike is fully faired right?
  5. Ahhh if it looks and rides alright should be fine.. Ive bought one like this before and it was a great buy and bike! Good luck!
  6. Naked bike. Bandit 250. Current owner only had it 2 years so had no idea. Deposit down. Balance tomorow after my experienced rider friend tests it
  7. Keep in mind the value will be less when it comes time to sell
  8. use the information to negotiate some money off the asking price if the price doesn't already reflect what you know
