Riding from Warrandyte to Kangaroo Ground this afternoon, cruising at about 70, I see a bird flying at eye level, left to right across my path, about a car length ahead. No problem... Then, out of the corner of my left eye, I spot its mate. This one is heading directly for my head. I instinctively ducked so fast, I almost heard my back crack. No contact made, so all good. As I like riding with my visor fully open, all I could think of afterwards was: copping a face full of pretty bird.
