My bike's 1st service, where to take it?

Discussion in 'Businesses and Service Providers' started by BlooNinja, Feb 4, 2010.

  1. Hey guys and gals,

I just ticked over 1000 km's on the ninja and going to book it in for its 1st service.

I bought it at Peter Stevens in Ferntree Gully, I live in Bayswater. My bike (or car) mechanics aren't great great so i dont want to start pulling things apart.

My question is, given Peter Stevens gets a bad rep, do i take it there for its first service or would i be better off taking to a proper motorbike specialist?
  2. bike specialist.
  3. PS at ferntree gully aren't too bad, and you probably should take it there for the first service. brett at mad biker in dorset rd is good.
  4. I got my new bike a few weeks ago from PS City. They had the best price, but their service department leaves a lot to be desired in my book. I've actually seen a bike taken apart after a service from them. They didn't even take off the tank to open the air box (and clean the air filter).

This was a bike that was for service with another mechanic the day after being picked up from PStevens.

I take my bike to Brett at ********. I've used him for about 3 years now and I can not fault his work. I believe ********[dot]com[dot]au will get you to his web site. He's out your way too.

My bike is booked in for this Friday and he's got a loan CB250 while your bike's in for a service ($12/day for the loaner to cover the maintenance and petrol etc on the C8).
  5. oh, he will stamp your log book too. Ensures you keep your warranty valid!
  6. I don't know how good or bad PS in FTG are, but I do know how good m a d b i k e r is.
I live 20 KM from Ferntree Gully and still take my bike to Brett. He treats the bike as he would his own. Not to mention his late night emergency calls service !!!!
  7. does anyone know how much im looking at for my first service as my bikes just ticked over 1000 ?
  8. ask your dealer! every bike is different. 180-350
  9. As has been said, take it to Brett Harrington at M A D B I K E R (this name is blocked by the forum) in FTG.
