  1. Why does everyone seem to hate MUARC? Just googled it, came up with the Monash Uni Accident Research Centre.

    Obviously a Victorian Phenomenon.

Just wondering if anyone can enlighten a friend from across the border. Deep down we actually like you guys :) and care about what is happening across the way.
  2. They've had a pretty consistent history of pushing a strong anti-motorcycle agenda and spinning every bit of research they can manage to fit said agenda.

  5. Hmmm....

    I see now.

Has anybody written a letter them informing them of how biased their "research" comes across?

What about the Motorbike Rides Association for Victoria? Are they pitching their oar in?

I see in some of those threads that the Vic Government is taking recommendations from MUARC over certain things, namely speed cameras. The way it seems is like the typical doctor in the courtroom. Or, people that endorse/deny global warming. You can always find a crackpot that will support the point of view you want them to support. VicRoads want more cameras, they'll go out and find a crackpot that will say "speed cameras will make everything better and save da puppies".

Can we do some research that gives a better direction? Surely out of the few thousand riders we have here, we can pick up a better consensus.

    Questions like:

    - When driving a car, how often do you use something other than the fundamental controls for the vehicle? ie, apply makeup, smoke, check mobile phones

    - While driving a car, have you ever crashed due to the above?

    - Have you ever made contact with another object while trying to park your vehicle?

  6. Read the threads posted one of them answers your questions
