{Moved from General} KTM Duke Lifespan, or with high km's

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' at netrider.net.au started by doc_chow, Apr 6, 2014.

  1. Hi

I am thinking of buying a KTM Duke 690 or 990 for the next upgrade, and as i can only afford to buy a used one. I was wandering if someone could tell me what the lifespan of a single piston engine of the duke would be?
Is it a safe bet to get one with >30,000km's on the clock...?

I am just a little worried that, a single piston with >30,000km's on the clock might be heavily stressed and along the years, the motor is due for a rebuilt soon

  2. I have no experience with big single road bikes (although I'd like to!) but I would think that the usual disclaimers about servicing and the like would doubly apply.....
