Mounting an iPhone

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by friction, Sep 2, 2010.

  1. Surely this has come up before, but I did a search and a quick skim of the threads shows nothing specifically iPhone - if I missed something please link to the thread.

Anyway I'm wanting to mount my iPhone on the flat panel immediately to the left of the fuel tank and directly under the handlebars when they're straight. There's a hex screw that connects that panel to the side faring that could be used to bolt on a holder.

There's this: http://www.islandlatitudes.net/Isla...y_Ducati_Monster_696_iPhone_Installation.html which uses this weatherproof mount (http://us.dahon.com/accessories/2010/biologic-bike-mount-iPhone) but I'm not sure how I'd modify the back (it's designed for a handlebar). He then uses a Belkin USB port (http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=489424) and connects the standard iPhone cable to that.

    Anyone with experience doing this?
  2. Dunno how I missed it, even in the same subforum. I saw "A photo from your ride", "[VIC] Sundays - Learners / New Riders " and somehow missed the third search result.

    Mod please delete this thread.
