Mount a GPS (to use speed cameras, speedo check, directions etc)

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by TAX123, Jan 7, 2011.

  1. has anyone mounted a gps to their bike? and where is the best place to put it? on the tank, dash, windshield etc

I got a garmin nuvi 255 for $150 (its not a waterproof or motorbike one) I use it in my car but would like to temp mount it to my bike. The main reason is to avoid all those new safety cameras . The only thing wrong with the garmin nuvi is they dont have pre installed cameras, but found a great site at http://www.pcoservice.vze.com/gps/safetycameraupdate.htm that have all the new safety cameras and school zones.

Back to topic, I got that disk and suction cup thing I stuck it to my tank once to check my speedo which was out by about 8 kph at 100kph, but had to use battery, has anyone found a way to make a cigarette lighter plug on their bike?

  2. Get a "RAM MOUNT".
