MotoGP under lights

Discussion in 'Racing, Motorsports, and Track Days' started by jd, Apr 25, 2006.

  1. Not exactly new news (but doesn't seem to have been posted on here yet) however it seems that the recent track testing by Rossi, Roberts and Capirossi at Qatar under lights may actually eventuate into night events being part of the MotoGP round. Obviously the driving factor behind this is getting the events to run at a time that'll allow them to be shown live in other countries - the cooler temperature would also be a bonus (especially in Qatar). Probably unlikely they'll ever run events at Phillip Island at night, but be interesting if they did.

  2. Yeah definitely the desert events like Qatar could benefit from this - would be a bit of a novelty that would attract more people as well.
