MotoGP Rnd 5 - France (Le Mans circuit) Good race overall. Rossie was out on a new chassis and I was impressed with his performance starting from 6th on the grid and by lap 18 (ish) he was leading Pedrosa by 4 seconds, then the Yammy engine just threw in the towel. It was his front tyre in China, and now an engine failure. With 2 DNF's in a row, this is not be a good season for Rossi to retire on. If he is going out, he will want to do it on top. He can still come back, but its getting progressively harder with each round. I expect to see him racing again next season, on the new 800's. So thats 2 race wins for Melandri, and a solid 4th for Stoner with Hayden in 5th. Vermullen nabs some more points for Suzuki in 10th. Its good to see Vermullen bringing home the bacon in every race for Suzuki, even though it is just a couple of slices. I was gutted for Hopkins going down when he was in 3rd. Someone give that man a podium! So Hayden, Melandri and Capirossi have 83, 79 and 79 championship points respectively. Stoner has 65 and is by no means out of the running. It will all change if Rossi can get his bike to work and his tyres to hold together.
