Mirror Extensions?

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' at netrider.net.au started by RobE, Sep 25, 2007.

  1. My left shoulder is pretty attractive but I would rather see more of the road and the drivers who are trying to kill me.

I was thinking of making up an extender with a bolt and threaded collar. The bolt would fit into the handle bar and the mirror would screw into the collar. This would lift the mirror to give me a better view. Hopefully screwing the mirror in would tension the whole unit and stop it from loosening up.

Has anyone done this already? How did it go? Am I trying to "reinvent the wheel" 'cos these things readily available from bike shops (but not in FTG)?

  2. Great idea but don't forget that any extension will exaggerate any vibes at the bars and in fact you may see even less.
