Melbourne to Licola and back, for giggles. (with pics)

  1. Ok so the ride was over a year ago, but I forgot to post pics. ;)

Here's a map of the ride for the day. Approx 471km and 2.5 tanks of fuel.

The coal fired power station at Yallourn North (just near C on the little googlymap). So much steam comes out of the cooling towers that it creates it's own rain and leaves droplets on your visor as you ride past.

Got so carried away by the scenery on the road into Licola, that I forgot to take any pics. Here's the bike having a rest in Licola while I topped up my belly tank with mineral water and beef jerky.

    Pictures don't do it justice.

On the way home. No idea who Dawson is, but apparently he lives here.

Cya Dawson... Thanks for the trip, and no you can't keep my glove.

All up about 8 hours, including being lazy while taking in the scenery. Totally worth the sore wrists. :biker:

  3. yeah you must, both roads are my local 'racetracks' ;)

licola doesnt have many guard rails though...
  4. Love the Licola (and Dargo) roads and after driving them for so many years I can't wait to ride up there. We live just up the road from Dawson - quiet sort - doesn't get out much.......
