  1. Hi guys. Just wanted to throw in my first post on Netrider.
Passed my learners course at HARTS about a month ago and received delivery of my VTR250 yesterday.

Yesterday I did a couple of rides around the back streets and one bigger ride to my local amx. I have so much to learn!

Hope to see you all around on the threads.
  2. Hi KBear and welcome to Netrider. I am guessing you are from Melbourne? Get a bit more practice in and when you are ready Saturday morning practice is a good place to come and meet the gang and get some useful tips. Practice happens every Saturday morning in Elwood/StKilda. If you go into Ride and Event Announcements Victoria it will give you all the details.

If you are not confident to get down there put up your hand in that thread and someone will offer to escort you down.

Again Welcome, hope you stay around and contribute to the forums. (y)

  3. Welcome @KBear@KBear ! Nice bike.. Just got my learners on the weekend and I'm looking for something similar as my first bike too. Where abouts in Melbourne are you located?
Hope you enjoy the VTR250. I heard that its a an easy bike to ride and very reliable.

  5. Welcome Kbear,
    Enjoy the ride.
  6. Welcome.
yay more melb Learners! I just got mine a couple months back too. I recommend going down to the Sat sessions in Elwood, I'm going to start attending again too. Was really helpful the time I went.
  7. Welcome aboard Kbear:]
  8. Thanks everyone. The VTR250, so far, is a very forgiving bike. I am in love.
Had a terrible ride last night, but am heading out again tonight for another crack.

Will probably try to get to Elwood on Saturday. Not sure if it's foolhardy to head through the city so early into my learning curve, but any excuse to ride, right?
  9. Welcome to the forum and a lifetime of addiction
  10. City's not as bad as all that, just mind the tram tracks and more taxis.
  11. Welcome to the forums KBear.

Bit of advice from a fellow Learner, I would advise doing some stop starts on a road with a slight incline. I remember going to AMX in Tullamarine and having to start from a stop up the freeway exit. It's one of those trial by fire experiences where you kinda learn on your own.

Hope you have many a pleasant journey!
