Mechanic in Mackay??

Discussion in 'Businesses and Service Providers' at netrider.net.au started by JohnG., May 12, 2007.

  1. Anyone on here from Mackay Qld?
    I've just moved here...
    Can you recommend a mechanic
    who handy at EFI tuning?

  2. I've had some work done at Redline Honda. They are in Milton St near Caneland Shopping Centre. They generally have very good customer service EXCEPT when they are really busy. I'm pretty sure they have the latest equipment there and can dynotune your efi bike.

Kawasaki are down on the next block but I don't think they have much of a workshop and suzuki are on Gordon street also on the same block as Kawasaki. I think suzuki do have a decent workshop. I haven't had much to do with these two though.

    Good luck.
  3. Thanks, Woodsy...
I found Redline Honda very busy also...so busy I got ignored,
so got pissed off and walked out.
The Harley/BMW place was booked up five weeks ahead!
(lots of miners here with HD's) but were polite and told
me they dont do Aprilia/'Guzzi anymore.I have an Aprilia Caponord.
I bought some stuff off the Yamaha/KTM/Suzuki bloke...like bloody
kmart in there, but very quick ordering aftermarket parts & a good price.
Their workshop may be worth a try as Triumph & Aprilia share similiar
Sagem ECUs.But as with anything here the hourly rate will be $$$.
The Polaris bloke on the main road heading south at 'City Gates', was
very helpful lending me tools to fix a light before doing a roadworthy
for me and has a tyre-changing machine (bonus  ).But wasnt
very interested in touching my bike. But I dont mind DIY, so I'll be
back for tyres.I havent tried Kawasaki yet or those couple of wreckers
out the Harbour road,I think?.Anyone else?
