  1. Folks, I have fresh tyres and tweaked suspension, and I’d like to invite you all to come and help me test them out!

FYI, this is a group ride I'm organising on behalf of the Christian Motorcyclists' Association of NSW. Be warned - this means there may be little fish stickers on some of the other bikes. But we're not about "Bible-bashing" anyone - we're just out for a ride and we'd love some company. ALL are welcome.

    Start points:
    10.00am at M4 McDonald's citybound (http://goo.gl/maps/dPKGP), OR
    10.30am at McDonald's McGraths Hill (http://goo.gl/maps/MhV7k)

Please arrive at your chosen start point at least 20 minutes early to avoid delays when we head off. We won’t be waiting for latecomers, so if you get there and we’re already gone you’ll need to catch up.

    Destination: Spencer Village Store (http://goo.gl/maps/Bu4mJ)
Route: Spencer via Wisemans Ferry (http://goo.gl/maps/wRZdW)

2.00pm at Pie in the Sky, Cowan (http://goo.gl/maps/Nv1Ke), OR
    3.30pm at M4 McDonald’s westbound (http://goo.gl/maps/htUcX)

Distance: 220km ex Eastern Creek, or 134km from McGraths Hill to Pie in the Sky

Please ensure you start the ride with a full tank. The closest fuel to the citybound M4 McDonald’s is the Caltex next door, and the closest fuel to McDonald’s McGraths Hill is BP - 126 Windsor Rd, McGraths Hill (http://goo.gl/maps/QdksX).

Now for the route (see also http://goo.gl/maps/wRZdW):

For those starting at Eastern Creek:
    9.40am - Meet at M4 McDonald’s citybound (http://goo.gl/maps/dPKGP)
10.00am sharp - depart and take Reservoir Rd exit
    - left onto Sunnyholt Rd
    - left onto Old Windsor Rd

    All others:
    10.10am - Meet at McGraths Hill McDonald’s (http://goo.gl/maps/MhV7k)
10.30am sharp - Eastern Creek group arrives - be ready to depart when they get there.
    - right at Pitt Town Rd
    - right at Chatham St
    - right at Eldon St, becomes Cattai Rd then Wisemans Ferry Rd
    - left at Old Northern Rd

11.20am - arrive at Wisemans Ferry and cross Hawkesbury River (http://goo.gl/maps/VJmxM)
    - turn right to continue on Wisemans Ferry Rd

12.00pm - arrive at Spencer Village Store for lunch (http://goo.gl/maps/8Z9Tl)

1.00pm - depart Spencer and continue north along Wisemans Ferry Rd
    - right at George Downes Dr
    - right onto Peats Ridge Rd
    - right onto Old Pacific Hwy

2.00pm - arrive at Pie in the Sky, Cowan (http://goo.gl/maps/cWdER)

This is where the supervised ride ends. I'll be heading back to Eastern Creek via Galston Gorge, and all are welcome to join me, but I expect most of the rest of the group will disperse at this point. I expect to arrive back at Eastern Creek at approx 3.30pm.

Fuel is available at Asquith and Berowra after we finish up at Pie in the Sky - if you start with a full tank at McGraths Hill, it’s then 134km to Asquith.

We'll use corner markers and a Tail End Charlie for this ride, since it's a long way and there are a few turns that are easy to miss. This is the way it’s going to work:
    1. The person riding behind the leader is automatically the corner marker.
    2. At an intersection, the leader will hold out his left hand and point to the side of the road, to let the corner marker know it's time to pull over.
    3. The corner marker pulls over as directed, with their indicator on in the direction of the turn.
    4. All riders pass the corner marker and proceed in the direction indicated.
    5. When the last rider - the "Tail End Charlie" (TEC) - passes the corner marker, the TEC gives the corner marker a big wave to let them know there's no-one else coming.
    5. The corner marker is now the new TEC.

We’ll also be using the Buddy System for this ride. This just means you need to check your mirrors every couple of minutes to make sure you can see the next rider following you. If you lose sight of them, slow down or pull over until they catch up. If they don’t, turn around and investigate. Any problems, give me a call ASAP on 0414 524 106.

Be ready to pull over if you lose sight of your buddy, be on the lookout for corner markers, and be ready to act as a corner marker when it’s your turn.

It is the responsibility of all riders to ride within their own skill levels, and to ride within the law.

Please make sure you understand the above before coming on this ride. Check out the route and familiarise yourself with the turns we’ll be making. Don't be afraid to ask a question if there's anything you don't understand. If you come along you will need to know where we’re going and how it’s going to work.

If the weather is uncertain, I will make the call by 6am and let everyone know via email and Facebook to say whether or not the ride is going ahead.

Suggested changes to the route are always welcome.

In case of any emergencies on the day, please put my number into your phone - 0414 524 106.

Please pass on the invitation to any other riders you know who might be interested, and let me know by Thursday 29 May whether or not you’ll be coming along - if we have a decent sized group I'm going to call the Spencer Village Store on Friday and let them know our numbers. When replying, please also tell me whether you'll be starting at Eastern Creek at 10am or at McGraths Hill at 10.30am. Finally, again, please make sure you're there early and with a full tank so that we can get going without delay.

    Who's in?
  2. I will try to make this one.
hope to see you at McGRATHS HILL

    Leaving McGraths Hill at 10:30am:

    Start point not specified:
