Loud Bang

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by Jez79, Sep 13, 2007.

  1. Anyone know what this is? Sometimes when I start the bike, usually in the arvo about to head home from work (not first thing in the morning), sometimes there is a loud BANG from the exhaust, and after that the engine fires over?? Its happened twice now..

Bike is a 99 zx6r with ballistic CF pipe. Is it something to do with unburnt fuel?

    Thanks in advance. J.

  2. If its a track system then this effect is common. It is basically the vapours pre-igniting in the headers.
  3. Cheers pro-pilot... pardon my ignorance but whats a track system? Method of fuel delivery?
  4. Full end to end race pipes. Not just slip ons.
  5. Gotcha. Cheers.
