Loss of power on scooter

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by Rukas, Dec 3, 2007.

  1. Hey guys,

My Bolwell Red Devil 50cc is having some problems.

Firstly, Ive been having starting problems. At first, I have a hard time actually turning it on. I thought it was a spark plug problem so I changed it but it hasnt really fixed the problem, although it is slightly improved.

The main problem is that in the last few days whenever I take off, its like the scooter lags behind a few seconds and then kicks in and takes off. I mean, I pull the throttle back all the way and nothing, it just sits there, whines a little, and then kicks in and SLOWLY accelerates for a bit before kicking in normally.

When it idles at the traffic lights, it sometimes cuts out also.

Any ideas what the problem could be?
  2. sounds like carbie problems. Too rich. Get it cleaned.
