200HP, twice the torque of a Ducati Panigale, 350km/h top speed, 290km range, The age of the electric may be upon us leaving its petrol brethren in its wake.

No road vehicle needs a 218 mph (350 km/h) top speed. No motorcycle needs to make 200 horsepower, with as much torque as a Hyundai iMax people mover. These are figures of absolute excess – and that's the point. The Lightning LS-218 will be a truly, horrifyingly fast motorcycle, the fastest on the planet. And it's set for release this summer in America.

  7. the only respectable choice is straight cut gears.
other options include : wearing down your brakepads until they start screeching

they likely picked the noise because it required the minimum wiring and circuitry

  8. It's a requirement in the rules for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb for electrical vehicles.

Any electric powered race car, truck,
Motorcycle must be fitted with an audio
WARNING system that is a minimum of 120 decibels
being measured from three feet from the vehicle and can only be activated from outside the
    vehicle
