Leathers how loose

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' at netrider.net.au started by PJ2, Oct 7, 2006.

  1. I am looking to buy some leathers in the next 2 months, but what I need to know is. I am fairly skinny but I plan on 'bulking up' alot in the next 5 months, I dont want to spend money on leathers and then have to buy another lot in 6 months. So what I am wondering is, how big or loose can they be ?

  2. Most leathers have some elastic expansion panels. You won't change a lot
in height (!) and even though they look close-fitting they can
be reasonably flexible in size (as long as you don't gain 25kg). Also
leather is a stretchy material which will 'give' a bit to suit you puttin
    on some kgs.
I'd choose something well fitting on the relaxed side but definitely not
baggy or loose, and make sure it has some adjusters or expansions.
  3. wot 'e said ^^

too loose and it they can roll up in the event of a slide, too tight and it can annoy you, be uncomfortable and choke you.

    try several on :)
  4. Remember that leathers will also just soften up a bit and so if you buy them to fit at the moment then in a few months as you are bulking up the leathers will stretch with you.
  5. When you refer to bulking up, unless you are going to fill up on roids, you will be fine. The leather has a fair amount of give..
  6. So wait 5 months and then get a leather jacket.

Shop around for a $100 cheapy for the time being
