Riding along West Botany st last night heading south, sitting behind a learner for a few hundred metres in the left lane who was travelling at 67 in a 60 not appearing to be totally in control of the car vearing all over the place. I think to myself "get the f%#* away from this" so I get out in front give my self about two hundred meters as I am going right up ahead into my street. Cars coming the other way so I have to wait. As I always feel vulnerable in this spot I was keeping one eye on what is coming up behind me, and sure enough the learner is coming at me fast, no hint of going into the left lane to go past me. Good thing there was no one else waiting in front of me to turn. I gun it and avoid being rear ended by a few metres. I've had my share of near misses and I take them with a grain of salt because I accept them as part of the deal but this one scared the bejesus out of me.
