Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by THE SULTAN, Jun 8, 2005.

  1. can someone outline what restrictions are placed on l-plate riders in SA and what the max capacity bike allowed is etc, cheers.

  2. http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/licences_certification/motorbike/index.asp

"Inquiries: Freecall 1800 018 300 between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, information available 24 hours a day, 7 days."

Would be good if you could then come back and post the answer to let us all know :)
  3. Hey Sultan,

I just got my L's in SA,

We have a 250cc restriction on the bike we can ride,
We can only carry a pillion if they are...
    a) fully licensed and
    b) completely crazy
We have a 80Kmh speed limit,
And your L's last up to 9 months (which you can get extended if you have a good reaon im told eg travel or something), and you can go for your P's at any time (although they suggest at least 4 months practice on your L's)

I reckon thats about it, there's no list of "approved bikes" they just gotta be 250cc or under.
  4. so who's gonna chuck a turbo unit on their 250?

  5. oo oo, me me.

A 12v hair dryer should do the job!

And fluffy bunny feet's info above, was all correctamundo.
