The excellent performance of Lorenzo Lanzi at last weekend's WSBK round raises some serious issues for the Ducati WSBK squad. Lanzi's total overshadowing of the unremarkable Toseland and his drafting into the team to sub for the unreliable Laconi must be causing some head-scratching. Lanzi was fast (if erratic) and looks to have "the goods" especially since it was only his 11th WBK race. So, what can Ducati do? The bike is clearly still fast enough (on the tight tracks anyway) but the riding staff is less than competitive. Bayliss??? (as has been suggested) Or do they go "wild card" and draft in Lanzi and another young rider?
