  1. Found this while researching posted in Courier-Mail feedback.

Comment: Many motorists have a good attitude in that they move aside to allow motorcyclists past. Only a few selfish motorists feel it is not fair that they have to wait in traffic while motorcyclists can safely move through the traffic.
Also, a new QLD Transport law allows a motorist to overtake on the left if the traffic is stationary. This implies that so long as you are in the same lane as the vehicle, at it is stationary, then you can legally overtake on the left in traffic such as traffic jams.
While some people see it as unfair, how many of those people feel pity for the same motorcyclist that has to ride in bad, wet and cold weather?
So long as the overtaking is sensible, then why not allow it?

Can some one point me in the right direction to check please?
Now this is a sensible...and goes against the NTC recomendation, if true.
  2. bad weather?

    Ronk mate...you're in Queensland yeah?
You DONT get any bad weather..LMAO.
  3. QLD Varies from the ARR by one line, which allows overtaking to the left of stationary vehicles. See https://netrider.net.au/forums/viewtopic.php?p=75839#75839
This rule doesn't allow lanesplitting as such though, but it is commonsense.
  4. True that.
  5. problem is that if the proposal goes thru and is made law it will be ILLEGAL for us to do that once everyone knows its illegal how many cars do you think will move???????????
