Lake Eildon Road Conditions

Discussion in 'Roads, Touring, Journeys, and Travel' at netrider.net.au started by Tiga, Oct 24, 2006.

  1. The road around the southern half of Lake Eildon looks awesome on paper (from Eildon to Howqua).

Can anyone tall me what the surface is like? Is this road actually sealed? My Melways indicates not but my touring guide suggests otherwise.

I'm thinking of doing a run up to Whitfield on Saturday and wouldn't mind varying the Yea route I've done in the past. May even post a ride if I get organised.

  2. Arrgh, if I could get the search function to work I reckon I could find the answer to this myself
  3. There's about 15km of tight, twisty, corrugated gravel between Eildon and Jamieson.

You can do it on a sportsbike, but it'll be first and second gear much of the time and your butt will get a decent workout!
  4. Thanks Clive, very helpful :)

I just found a review of those roads on another website. They look awesome.
