kymco quannon 125 stuck in first gear

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by n4spd, Apr 29, 2013.

  1. it starts to happen since last week, i can not put it to neutral at red lights, and i need to accelarate to be able to shift up to second gear. down shifting is not a problem although it feels stiffer than before.

if i switch off engin and leave the battery on, i can shift gear from 1 to neutral with no problem at all.

it is a cable operated clutch.

what could it be, and what tools do i need?

i am new to riding, is there a place in Sydney to learn how to do these kind of minor repairs?
    thanks in advance,
  2. Is the clutch cable free play adjusted correctly?
When operated does the clutch actuating lever on the engine/gearbox move the correct distance..ie. the actuating mechanism is faulty?
Checked the oil quality and level?

Other than that....possibly a bent selector fork??
  3. thanks for your reply just got towned back home because the clutch cable is broken while riding i will get it replaced next week.
