My sister's Vespa's been sitting neglected for the last couple of weeks (parked in between an R6 and a Spada, could you blame me?) so I decided to start 'er up and give it a run. Turns out the battery was flat. No worries, it's got a kick start. What followed was 20 minutes of swearing, cursing, questioning the legitimacy of said Vespa's birth, brusing my heel on the centre-stand and general miserableness as the mighty 125 failed to even give a cough... it then turns out that all that cranking managed to charge the battery up enough for it to fire up on the starter motor... Is there a trick to starting it on the kick, or is that just a battery charging handle? Reminds me of those wind-up torches and radios.
