Kevlar and UV exposure

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' at netrider.net.au started by philmydang, May 4, 2013.

  1. So my girlfriend decided to hang my draggins inside out on the line today :(

I know UV degrades kevlar but does anyone know by how much? Is a few hours going to render the kevlar lining useless now?

  2. It degrades at around 16% per year in strong UV. I don't think that hanging on the line for the day is an issue. It eventually turns brown and brittle when it completely breaks down so it gets obvious.

    it's a sad day :(
