Kawasaki Eliminator EL250 - General help required

Discussion in 'Cruisers' started by tomhughes209, Jul 13, 2009.

  1. Hi
Right, I bought this 1993 EL250 as a non-runner as my first project, but I am completely out of ideas now.

I have been unable to get hold of the service manual supplement, so anyone out there with a link to a copy or a hard copy I can buy do let me know - (England)

Heres a Summary of where we're at:
1-we have sparks on both sides
2-checked all fuel lines, there is fuel getting to the carbs
3-Have removed the carbs and blown through all jets: all clear
4-Have checked the diaphrams in the carbs and they seem perfect.
5-Have tried with a strong battery and it turns
over fine but doesn't even splutter!
6-With the carbs off manually spraying petrol in gets a pop.

I'm at a loss as to what to try next and would really appreciate any wisdom. Have had to buy an XS250 as a run about for the summer and I'm really eager to do some of the summer on the Kawasaki.

    Thanks all
