K&N Airfilter question

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by BJR, Aug 14, 2008.

  1. I have recently fitted a K&N airfilter in my GSXR1100, the bike runs very well but it has created a small flat spot down the bottom of the rev range which almost goes away once its warmed up.
The stock OEM replacement K&N's aren't meant to require any jetting changes, but what do you guys think?
I have had the plugs out after a 1000kms and they don't look like its running lean at all.

  2. You can't really read plugs anymore, with unleaded fuel.
  3. Still got the old filter?
Might be worth changing back to it, to see if the flat spot goes away, then you'll at least know if it's the filter or just coincidence.
  4. you've surely to control the carburation now....re allignment & CO value... you've a open exhaust also installed?
