Jenolan Caves Road - Roadworks

Discussion in 'Hazardous Road Condition Reports' started by Rose, Nov 17, 2012.

  1. Jenolan Caves Road is being dug up at the moment and is a mixture of mud, dirt and gravel, often on both sides of the road. There are two spots - one just a few ks up from the Great Western Highway turnoff and the other further up on the top of the ridge. The biggest danger is the lower section where the dirty bits seem to be hidden around the corners. With the recent rain the dirt sections could be fairly slippery. I'm sure the hordes of GS's that go through there regularly are fine but for the rest of us it doesn't look like much fun.

I've got to take my 848 down from Oberon back to Sydney tomorrow so I think I'll go via Tarana - a good excuse to take a different route that's pretty fun anyway.

  2. Thanks for the heads up!... (y) .. Tarana is a nice ride tho!.... :)
  3. It was! I think I passed 2 cars for the whole trip

  4. So why doesn't work like this this appear on the RTA live traffic site?
  5. Update - the road is absolutely fine now. Work all finished and the repaired surfaces are pretty good.
