Jackets > Euro vs. US Sizing > What is the AU standard

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' at netrider.net.au started by oblongit, Jan 20, 2008.

  1. Hi guys,

A simple q here, I've had a look around but can't find too much either way.

Now I'm up for a new jacket which I'll probably buy online/ out of a catalogue. I'm running into a quandary when I head to the moto shop to try on a few jackets and can't tell if the sizes in store are either EURO or US sizing.

Specifically I'm keen on a Dainese G11 Ice/Blue/Red (sorry too green to post the link yet) I have not been able to find this one in the shops as yet but am pretty sure I can get hold of it online/ direct.

I've been able to try on a few Dainese jackets at the likes of Peter Stevens and I've sussed out that I fit into a size 54-56.

Crunch is.... I'm not sure if what I'm seeing in the shops is a EURO or US size (or what is Aus standard is).

Given that Dainese is a euro brand I'd be leaning towards the EURO size scheme.

    Your thoughts please.

  2. Dainese use Euro sizing.

Here's some info & a guide for fitting Dainese jackets http://www.bikestop.co.uk/detail.php?id=1519 Here's another for general Dainese sizing: http://www.motorace.com/sizing.htm
    :google: is your friend!!!!!

Regardless of any size chart, nothing can tell you how somthing fits or doesnt apart from trying the item on. Bike gear is not just in US & Euro sizing but also UK, AUS and also a manufacturers!!
  3. Thanks!
