Insurance Q. Noobie.

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by Mendy, Mar 13, 2009.

  1. I was just thinking about a scenario this morning.

Lets say you have full insurance, covering theft, etc.
Your bike goes missing and after some time, insurance pays out. You get a new bike.

Now, after a couple weeks/months, or whatever, your old bike turns up. Is there a problem with keeping both bikes.
    Just been wondering. :?
  2. Apologies if in wrong section.
  3. The recovered bike is now the property of the insurance company and if you keep it thats theft and possibly be up for fraud.

The payout from the insurance company is effectivly to purchase the bike off you.
  4. OK, thanx for the response. It makes sense now.
