If It ain't Broke...Should I Fix It?

Discussion in 'Maintenance and Servicing' started by jmck, Sep 27, 2013.

  1. o.k had my XVS1100 (air cooled Cruiser) for about 100,000km in currently has 120,000km on the clock, it is serviced religiously. Over the last 30,000km I have had to replace 2x Valve cover 'O' rings and 1x Blank cap in the Cyclinder (cardboard gasket) both easy jobs. My question is there is 2 more cover covers and 1 x blank cap still to go, should I replace them as preventative maintenance, or just do it when/if it comes?

  2. Leave it alone
  3. If you play with it you will go blind.
  4. Yeah, don't fcuk with it if you don't need to. Decided to put on new carb boots last night, have a nice new dent in my tank to show for it when I dropped it taking it off.
  5. ouch!
